About the Happy Wee Creatures

I introduced the Happy Wee Creature initiative in March 2020 when a large proportion of the world had been sent to their rooms. I wanted to help cheer people up, and give people a way of reaching out to someone and telling them that they are loved, appreciated and not alone - the wee creatures have always been very good at making people smile, and reminding them of all the good things in this world.

This initiative will continue for the foreseeable future, as the Happy Wee Creatures want to spread happiness wherever they go, whenever they're needed, and not just during a national crisis! At the time of writing, I have sent out about 150 Happy Wee Creatures, and I’m looking forward to sending out hundreds more! Happy Wee Creatures are needed all year round, all over the world :)

Please note the Happy Wee Creatures are intended to be sent to someone special you nominate - there is something magical about receiving a surprise Happy Wee Creature in the post with a message from you, and that’s the basis on which I’m running this initiative (ie you can’t nominate yourself!)

Happy Wee Creatures are made using sparkly clay and they each hold a smiley face. I mostly make mice and polar bears, but occasionally I’ll make penguins, cats, bunnies and guinea pigs. I will send them out at random to your special person - the wee creatures always know, so please trust that the perfect Happy Wee Creature will find their way to them!

First time nomination
If you are nominating a special person for the first time, all you need to pay are the shipping costs (although you'll have the option of donating a bit more if you wish). I will make a Happy Wee Creature for your special person, and then send it to them with a message from you.

Subsequent nominations
If you want to nominate a second (or third or fourth!) special person to receive a Happy Wee Creature, then I will make these for a specially discounted price so I can cover my costs and keep this initiative going. These will be available from my online shop every couple of weeks or so on a first-come-first-served basis. 

How it works
The way it works is simple. Every few weeks, once I’ve made a goodly number of Happy Wee Creatures (about 15-20), I will create a #HappyWeeCreatures post in the Quernoholics Anonymouse group on Facebook. If you’re nominating a special person for the first time, put your name down on that post, and I will reply to your comment to confirm you’ve been chosen for one. (If you're not on Facebook, you can email me instead.) I’ll give a link to my website, where you’ll find a form to complete with details of your special person, and a PayPal donate button for the shipping costs. 

For those who want to send another Happy Wee Creature to a special person, I will put a number of Happy Wee Creatures in my online shop every few weeks or so (I'll announce when in the QA group). You'll be able to buy a Happy Wee Creature for a specially discounted price (which includes shipping) as follows:

* Within the UK - £20
* Europe - £25
* Everywhere else - £30

Shipping within the UK is by first class post, and shipping everywhere else is by International Tracked and/or Signed service.

Once you’ve bought your Happy Wee Creature, I will then email you with a link to my website where you can complete details of your special person, and I’ll send a Happy Wee Creature off to them.

Last but not least, I want to say a big thank all those people who include a bit extra in their donation above the shipping costs - this has meant I’ve been able to keep this initiative going, as well as my business!
